The Russian Cowboys

The Russian Cowboys started out as four friends jamming together at their homes, had a lucky break at a local theatre, decided to start gigging as a band around Oxford in 2013, and had played its first headline set before the year end. Expect the band's first EP in the near future.

The Russian Cowboys Trivia

Origins of the name: The name of the band is inspired by the film "The Leningrad Cowboys Go America", a cult film by Finnish film-maker Ari Kaurismaki about a fictitious band from Siberia breaking into the world of pop.

Support your local musicians

Indie bands and artists work hard for little reward. If you like great music, support your local music scene. Go to gigs, buy the music, buy the CDs, buy the merchandise, contribute to fund-raisers, like them on Facebook, tell your friends about their gigs, or buy the band a drink.
